Accounting & reporting specialist (external contractor)
Join TCR as an Accounting & Reporting Specialist for 6 months, managing full-cycle accounting, reporting, and process improvements in a dynamic international finance team.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Accounting & Reporting Specialist to join our international finance team on a full-time temporary assignment. This role is ideal for a finance professional with 5+ years of solid experience in accounting, reporting, and financial processes, who can integrate quickly, work independently, and contribute immediately to ongoing operational and project activities.

Location: Steenokkerzeel. 4 days on-site, 1 day remote
Team: International, dynamic, and collaborative finance environment
A snapshot of what you will be doing here:
Accounting Operations and Reporting:
- Manage daily accounting operations independently, covering Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger, and Asset Accounting
- Execute monthly closing and reconciliation processes in line with BE GAAP; knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS is a plus
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate on group reporting deliverables and support financial alignment across countries
Process Improvement and Projects:
- Identify and drive improvements in accounting processes and internal controls
- Contribute to automation initiatives, process documentation, and project-based assignments as needed
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support on financial matters
We are looking for an individual who:
- Has at least 5 years of hands-on experience in finance, accounting, or audit, ideally in an international context
- Possesses strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and/or UK GAAP is a plus
- Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Communicates fluently in English (Dutch and/or French is an advantage)
- Is proficient in Excel; experience with SAP is preferred
- Works independently, learns quickly, and adapts easily to new environments
- Brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset
- Feels comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving finance function
