About the role.

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Finance Director to join our senior leadership team. This is a key role for someone with strong finance leadership experience, ideally gained in leasing, aviation, and/or private equity-backed environments.

You’ll lead financial reporting, business partnering, and performance management, while helping shape financial strategy and ensure financial rigour across the business. You’ll work closely with the CEO, CFO, Board, and operational leaders to bring clarity to the numbers, support decision-making, and drive value.

Your focus areas:

• Financial reporting & compliance
  • Oversee all financial reporting activities - statutory, management, and investor-facing. 
  • Ensure accuracy, transparency, compliance, and readiness for audit. 
  • Lead engagement with external stakeholders including investors and the Board.

• Lead and Inspire the Finance HQ Team
  • You’ll lead a team of around 10 finance professionals at HQ, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • You'll empower the team to deliver high-quality outputs across reporting, planning, and business partnering; ensuring they are both technically strong and commercially engaged. 
  • As a people leader, you’ll focus on developing talent, building capabilities, and aligning the team around a clear vision.

• Create alignment across the group
  • Beyond your direct team, you’ll also play a central role in bringing together Finance leads from across the Group. 
  • Through a Finance Leadership Committee or similar forum, you'll share best practices, harmonize approaches, and build cohesion across geographies; strengthening the overall impact and maturity of the Finance function at group level.

• Business Partnering & Performance Management
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders to improve performance, optimize capital, and enhance cost control across function

• Strategic Finance & Transformation
  • Shape and deliver the finance functional strategy.
  • Lead the transformation of reporting and KPI frameworks, focusing on business value drivers and actionable insights.
  • Oversee the coordination of risks, opportunities, and portfolio-level financial planning.

• Private Equity & Investor Engagement
  • Act as a finance lead in a Private equity environment, supporting value creation, capital structure management, and covenant compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with PE sponsors and advisory boards, and contribute to investor relations and potential exit-readiness initiatives.

Your experience & fit: 

• Proven finance leader with experience in leasing, aviation, or private equity-owned businesses
• Strong track record in statutory reporting, FP&A, controllership, and commercial finance within multi-national or listed companies
• Significant private equity experience, including value creation, capital structure management, and working with sponsors and investors
• Demonstrated success in finance transformation, operational improvement, and KPI/reporting enhancements
• Excellent communicator, confident engaging with Boards, CEOs, CFOs, Audit Committees, and external investors
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; qualified accountant preferred
• 15+ years’ progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles within complex, global organisations
• Strategic, pragmatic leader with a collaborative style and proven ability to build high-performing teams
