Operations Director France
We’re currently looking for a Director of Operations to lead our French operations: overseeing several workshops and a team of over 150 skilled professionals.
The opportunity
To drive our operational performance in France, TCR France is looking for a Director of Operations, who will:
- provide effective leadership to the organization to ensure that our safety, operational standards & best
- practices, and objectives are achieved. In this role, you will lead the daily operations, further
- develop our customer relationships and increase our profitability. You are a service minded/solution oriented
- person that strives for operational excellence and you will act as an ambassador of the TCR brand.
In this role, you will report to the General Manager of TCR France.
Where you'll create the most of impact
• You will be responsible for managing day to day operations in France across several workshops across the country. This involves taking responsibility for operational excellence in the workshop next to profit, revenue, cash and quality targets.
• Daily contact with our customers is an important part of the role. Next to this, you develop strong relations with the major customers to seek a high rate of retention trough robust operational performance and a high quality of customer service in the workshops.
• You manage your team on the daily basis and develop their skills. You lead with empowerment, accountability and integrity as central pillars. You facilitate a safe and productive working environment.
• You identify sustainable ways of reducing costs and improving efficiency & productivity, whilst retaining long-term focus.
• You ensure operational excellence and lead continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities
Safety
- Responsible for Safety and Standards
- Deliver TCR best practices in relation to Group Safety targets
- Create a culture of safety within TCR France
Maintenance
- Responsible for fleet Maintenance
- Deliver ongoing technical and operational support
- Deliver according to best practices for operational excellence. Be pro-active and create best practices when relevant.
Lead the Operations team
- Lead the team according to the TCR Leadership Principles
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the team
- Motivate and coach the team to achieve organizational and personal goals on time in full, in order to ensure objectives are met and quality of the work is secured.
- Conduct/ensure training of team members to maximize their potential with a focus on transferring ‘tacit knowledge’
- Contribute to the growth of the company through building a successful and performant team. Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, knowledge, and skills.
- Enable and promote a culture of learning and development within the team. Create an environment where employees are encouraged to share information via a collective workforce
- Demonstrating active safety leadership by driving the safety culture and implementing initiatives to continuously improve TCR France’s safety performance

The Ideal candidate
- You are able to switch between strategic and tactical work daily and you are open to ‘roll up your sleeves’ whenever needed;
- You are rigorous, experienced in managing operational teams, driving planification internally whilst meeting customer requirements;
- You tailor your approach and make the balance between comprehensive or assertive behaviour whenever required;
- You are very switched on and have a focus on getting things done;
- You are a team player who acts with a sense of urgency and adapts to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
- Excellent communicator with ability to “partner up” with all different stakeholders;
- You have a track record in leading a team;
- Experience in aviation/GSE business is a plus;
- Good understanding of OH&S requirements and how to deliver safety performance
