HGV Technician – Luton
The Opportunity
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a GSE Technician to join TCR UK Ltd, a global leader in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, looking to develop their skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of TCR vehicles to the required standard, while adhering to safety regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the efficient repair and maintenance of GSE vehicles and equipment. Key duties will include:
Repair vehicles and plants as requested by the Workshop Supervisor.
Conduct inspections, brake tests, and smoke tests, reporting defects before repairs.
Diagnose and inform the Workshop Supervisor of required work and parts before commencing.
Complete job cards and inspection sheets accurately, handing them to the Workshop Supervisor at the end of each shift.
Maintain accurate records of parts used, and liaise with the Workshop Supervisor about any additional work or parts required.
Ensure all parts are labelled correctly and stored on appropriate shelves (warranty/exchange units).
Adhere to health and safety regulations, reporting defective tools and items immediately.
Quarantine and label any defective equipment.
Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators
High standard of repair and maintenance work.
Accurate, concise, and timely completion of all job cards and documentation.
Consistent use of the time scanning and recording systems.
Reliable attendance and adherence to company procedures.
Health and Safety Commitment and ISO Compliance
Always work safely and responsibly, following all safety rules and procedures.
Use PPE and protective devices correctly at all times.
Immediately report any accidents, near misses, damage, or unsafe conditions.
Cooperate fully with investigations and contribute to continuous safety improvement.
Report unsafe or defective tools, equipment, PPE, or working practices immediately.
Actively participate in promoting a safe working environment and suggest improvements where appropriate.
Comply with the company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies.
Follow Safe Systems of Work in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 management system frameworks.
Ensure all documentation and services meet ISO9001 requirements.
Correctly segregate and identify waste in accordance with ISO14001 obligations.
Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts as per Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with:
Motor mechanics knowledge, ideally within the LGV sector.
Experience working in an operational vehicle or logistical environment.
Experience in a customer-focused role, particularly in vehicle maintenance.
A strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Good communication, organisational, and numerical skills.
A customer-oriented, service delivery focus.
Qualifications
LGV Level 3 or equivalent in Motor Mechanics.
A good level of general education.
Working Hours
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 0530 to 1730
