Oil and Water Technician – Manchester / Liverpool
The Opportunity
Join our workshop team as an Oil and Water Technician, supporting TCR operations by ensuring Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is correctly maintained through scheduled oil, water, battery, and refuelling activities. You will play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability, safety, and compliance across Manchester Airport, with occasional support at Liverpool Airport.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled oil and water top-ups across the identified GSE fleet.
Perform battery level top-ups for all TCR batteries.
Conduct visual inspections of battery terminals and overall condition, reporting corrosion or damage to the Lead Hand.
Complete equipment refuelling duties as required.
Carry out monthly hour and mileage checks in line with requirements.
Report any excessive oil or water usage to the Lead Hand.
Maintain accurate logs of all top-ups completed and any defects identified.
Escalate any GSE that cannot be located to the Lead Hand.
Support general workshop duties as requested by the Lead Hand or Workshop Manager.
Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators
Completion of fleet oil and water checks to schedule.
Consistent and accurate fleet battery top-ups.
Efficient and timely refuelling of equipment.
Accurate recording of non-productive hours.
Reliable attendance and adherence to absence and sickness procedures.
Health and Safety Commitment
Promote and comply with the company EPIC policy and safety procedures at all times.
Work responsibly to prevent injury to yourself and others.
Follow all safety rules, operating procedures, and instructions.
Correctly use all safety equipment, protective devices, and PPE.
Immediately report accidents, near misses, damage, or unsafe conditions.
Cooperate fully with accident and incident investigations.
Report defective tools, equipment, PPE, or unsafe working practices without delay.
Actively contribute to improving health and safety standards across the business.
ISO Compliance
Comply with the company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies.
Follow Safe Systems of Work in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 frameworks.
Adhere to all compliance obligations and operational requirements.
Ensure correct identification and segregation of waste in line with ISO14001 obligations.
Ensure all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts are reported in accordance with Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
