Procurement and Contracts Manager
We are looking for a commercially astute and operationally hands-on leader who can take full ownership of workplace, property, procurement, and supplier management across a multi-site aviation environment. You will oversee subcontractors, parts suppliers, and overheads, ensuring optimal cost, performance, and compliance in operational maintenance and repair activities.
This role will suit a candidate either based near Manchester or Heathrow Airport!
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and own all procurement activities across operations, overheads, and facilities across UK & Ireland sites, including the development and execution of strategic procurement plans.
Lead contract renewals and re-negotiations, ensuring timely execution and optimal commercial outcomes.
Accountable for procurement budgets, supplier performance, and delivery of 5–10% annual cost savings.
Lead supplier and subcontractor management, ensuring service delivery, compliance, and value optimisation across all contracts.
Establish and maintain supplier governance frameworks, including contracts, KPIs, and SLAs, ensuring performance is actively monitored and corrective actions are implemented where required.
Oversee lease management, dilapidations, and the full property lifecycle, maintaining effective landlord and managing agent relationships.
Oversee project delivery, including operational improvements, integrations, and site changes, in line with agreed supplier frameworks.
Ensure statutory compliance, ESG reporting, and adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards across all sites.
Line manage 1 direct report, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators
Procurement and supplier savings achieved (5–10% annually).
Supplier and subcontractor performance >95% adherence to KPIs/SLAs.
100% statutory compliance across all sites.
Zero major audit non-conformities.
Projects delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives.
Reduction in reactive maintenance versus planned.
Qualifications & Experience
CIPS Level 4–6 or MCIPS.
8–12+ years in operations, FM, procurement, or business services leadership.
Proven ownership of multi-site environments.
Strong commercial and contract negotiation experience.
Experience implementing governance frameworks (ISO, ESG, audit).
Experience in aviation/logistics/engineering environments preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Commercial and financial acumen across multi-site operations.
Expertise in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation (CIPS standards).
Deep knowledge of facilities/property management (IWFM best practices).
Project and risk management skills (PRINCE2 beneficial).
Leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Understanding of ISO, ESG reporting, and audit processes.
