As an Automotive Mechanic, you’ll use your technical expertise to carry out repairs, preventive maintenance and diagnostics on a wide range of specialised GSE equipment. You’ll work closely with a skilled workshop team to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations that keep the airport moving.
A snapshot of what you will be doing here:
- Utilise your technical skills and experience as a tradesman to conduct repairs and preventive maintenance of ground support equipment.
- Conduct preventive servicing, data collecting to create daily reports as well as repair and maintenance tasks that reflect a trade standard.
- Promote a safety-first approach.
- Collaborate with fabricators, technicians and assistants to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Utilise the wide variety of equipment and the unique nature of aviation equipment as an opportunity for you to bring a wide collection of knowledge & skills to the role.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment to support safe and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain multiple unique GSE specialised equipment such as belt loaders, aircraft tow tractors, baggage tractors & trailers and high loaders
Who we're looking for:
- Relevant Mechanic Trade Qualification such as Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, Automotive Electrical Technology, Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualifications.
- Have your own tools.
- Exposure to diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical fault finding is highly regarded.
- Hold a current and valid State Driver's License.
- A strong focus on safety standards and relevant company policies & procedures.
- Experience working within procedural guidelines.
- Good communication skills and proactiveness.
- A positive attitude and proactive mindset, with the ability to work autonomously as well as being a good team player.
